The Holy Armor And How To Wear It

“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

Ephesians‬ ‭6‬:‭10‬-‭12‬ ‭KJV‬‬

This would not be the first time that I have written about the holy armor of Yahweh, and it probably will not be my last. The holy armor of Yahweh is a gift that comes from the Lord to help and aid us throughout our entire walk with him. It actually turns out that it’s more than just armor that you put on to shield you from the enemy, it is also something that helps you to walk in The Heavenly Father. This armor is so special that we actually underestimate what the armor does for us, and how it actually is used in dire situations. In my first article ((https://theheavenlymeal.com/the-holy-armor-of-god/)), I spoke about the holy armor of god but only briefly mention each armor piece and described what the armor as a whole does you. But since then a whole year has gone by, and I have actually been in quite a few spiritual battles since then. And I thank the Holy Spirit that we, And yes I’m gonna say “we” because me and the Holy Spirit we’re together going through this battle, but we got through each and every situation and spiritual battle together.

“Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:”

When the Lord gave us the holy armor, his intentions was to protect us from fiery darts of the enemy and from princess and principalities that are in heavenly places. So each armor has a purpose to accomplish a task that is necessary when we are in battle. As the scripture Ephesians‬ ‭6‬:‭11‬ ‭KJV‬‬ says: “Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” So before we get into each piece of the armor, let’s talk about how the armor is a posture. This will set the mind on what you are hearing and listening to. The holy armor when it is worn properly protects you from attack such as: gluttony, anger, being impatient, selfishness, coveting what others have, and adultery. These are just a few examples of some of the attacks that the holy armor protects us from. The holy armor dresses eyes and keeps us in the likeness of our Lord and Savior Yahush. So now let’s go over the pieces of armor.

First is the helmet of salvation. The helmet of salvation is just as it is described, it is the salvation that we have inherited from the sacrifice of our Lord and Savior. The helmet of salvation when worn properly protects us from the fiery darts that attacks are mind. Satan loves to attack the mind of the Lord‘s followers. This is why the Lord tells us to protect our ear gates and our eye gates to watch out for what it is that we may be taking in in what we are watching and listening to. This also includes what we are agreeing to with our decision-making, and this is the helmet of salvation.

Next is the breast plate of righteousness. The righteousness is not our own, but it belongs to the heavenly father. When we wear the breast plate of righteousness, we are reflecting our Lord and Savior Yahusha, for example: love, kindness, generosity, wisdom, truth, honesty, charity, and love for others. These are just a few examples of what characteristics we reflect.

When we reflect Yahusha, he is who people see and not us when we talk to, pray for, or communicate with others, and this is a good thing. Because this means that us as the assembly will walk in unison instead of our own desires.

Next is the belt of truth. The belt of truth is a spiritual belt that is tied around the waist and it actually holds the breast plate of righteousness together. This is because the truth of the word is needed in order to know what righteousness is, to be specific the Lords righteousness. For you to wear this armor, you would have to read the word and to understand who the heavenly father is what he has done for us and why we follow him. This is important to our walk to have the word not just memorize, but inside of us to where it takes over our lives. This is why the Lord says to get into your word daily so the word can land on good soil, and grow bearing fruit.

Next armor is so important the word says above all hold up your shield of faith. The shield of faith is one of the most important next to the helmet of salvation. You see the helmet of salvation guarantees you the salvation of the Lord and his sacrifice, but the shield of faith is the faith that you have in the Lord most high Yahweh and his sovereignty. When we believe in the sovereignty of our heavenly father, we believe that his power conquers all and is more powerful than anybody else in the entire world. Whether they are in heaven or in hell, no one‘s power surpasses his and this is why the faith is not faith in ourselves, but faith in our heavenly father, who is sovereign overall things. Notice the word says to hold up the shield of faith because you cannot be protected if the shield is at your side. So always hold up your shield and keep having faith that the Lord, our heavenly father will get you through all things. And that is how you wear the shield of faith.

Next armor are the shoes of peace. The shoes of peace is the spiritual meaning of abiding in Yahusha and keeping peace with you as you live for him. Often we carry a baggage of stress and problems and we let these problems get to us and make us miserable, sad, or depressed. This can be really hard on us as followers, because when we walk with the Lord we are supposed to be having faith in him that he will carry us through all situations. And to wear this armor you must believe that Yahusha gives us peace, and he desires for us to walk in him in peace. So you must believe to wear this armor.

Last but not least of the spiritual armor, is the sword of the spirit. The sword of the spirit is a representation of a spiritual sword that cuts down, lies in deception and the fiery darts of the enemy. This armor allows you to cast down devils and devil doctrines that are made to come against you and distract you from your purpose with the heavenly father. Very often in our walk with our Lord, we find ourselves having every day distractions or every day people who the enemy may try to work through to take us away from our faith. Us as Christians and followers of Yahusha must remember to be careful of what we allow to take our attention away from our Lord. To use this armor you must decree the Lord‘s word into your lives, and this is how this armor is worn is that the sword of the spirit is the word of Yahweh.

“praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; and for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

So the first six armors are normally the armors that everybody knows about, but the next couple of armors are actually ones that people overlook. And that is the power of prayer and speaking in boldness. Prayer is so important to our walk that it is the first thing that we are taught to do when we begin our walk after accepting Yahusha as our Lord and Savior. Prayer is how we speak to The Heavenly Father and ask for help, blessings, and make a connection. It is how we communicate to our heavenly father. And so when the Lord ask us to pray for the assembly and pray for the Saints, these prayers go up into heaven, and they go into action. So it is important to understand how vital it is to pray every day. And of course, speaking boldly because the Lord also ask us to speak the word to other people so they may find salvation. So often we will be readers of the word, and we will forget to feed other people who do not have the knowledge that we do, and so it is imperative that we also spread the word and speak boldly to save other people‘s lives. And this can be our neighbors, our children, our husbands and wives, our friends, and yes even strangers. But it is imperative that we feed other people and teach them the word and also how to wear the armor of Yahweh.
