All About Abraham
And Yahweh

Imagine being told to leave your home town, and having faith in The Heavenly Father you obey and do so. You have no idea where you are going or where is the final destination. But because you have faith you go, and leave your only home you have ever known, including your family that you were raised with all your life. So you head out to the wilderness with Yahweh as your compass. This is what The Heavenly Father asked of Abraham when he was told to leave his home in Haran, going away from his fathers house and out into the wilderness. And the Lord would guide him in what direction to take, where to go and where not to go.

Genesis 12:1-3 (KJV) Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee:

And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:

And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

The Lord lead Abraham into the wilderness and made a covenant with him for his future generations, promising that his wife Sarah will have a son. But there was a problem, Sarah was barren and had not had children, so she believed that she was being kept from having any children. Both Abraham and Sarah were very old when The Heavenly Father gave this promise to them. So because they were old Sarah had a hard time believing she could bear children. But Abraham had faith in the Lord and his promises, and trusted that all these things spoken to him would come to pass. How often do we have it that the Lord is talking to us and is asking us to leave what we familiarly know and trust him in going to another season. When Abraham trusted in the Lords words and left his home, he was being guided by The Heavenly Father to lay claim over the land that was promised to him. Not only was Abraham promised land for his future but also future generations. Abraham and his wife Sarah was barren and old, but the Lord can make all things happen. So when The Heavenly Father promised Abraham generations as a great multitude as the stars and the sand, it really put hope in his heart and Abraham believed. Immediately Abraham would make an alter to The Most High Yahweh and sacrifice and prey unto him, showing that he believed in the promises made.

Genesis 17:6-8 (KJV) And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee.

And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.

And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.

Even till today The Lords promise is still being fulfilled. Abraham’s descendants are still growing as vast as the stars and sand, rather if people know they are apart of Abraham’s lineage or not. This is beautiful because it shows how much The Heavenly Father keeps to his promises and fulfills them. Even if something may seem impossible to us, there is nothing to hard for the Lord.
